The City Council awarded ten young entrepreneurs at the Cultural Factory to launch their creative ideas (11/01/2018)

Performing arts, fashion and design, visual arts, architecture, cultural management, sustainable furniture, music and heritage are the disciplines in which these ten projects are specialized.

José Ballesta explained that "these young people will participate in a specialized tutoring program and will have a work space at the Centro Párraga, a creative ecosystem suitable for the consolidation of their business ideas".

Ten original and innovative proposals from different areas of the world of culture have been presented today in the Exhibition Hall of the City of Murcia.

Its promoters, young creatives and entrepreneurs, have been granted grants by the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture, so they can develop and consolidate their business ideas over the next six months in Factoría Cultural, the nursery of creative industries located in the Párraga Center.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, along with councilmen Jesús Pacheco and Rebeca Pérez, the general director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Autonomous Community, Marta López-Briones, the coordinator of the Murcia Region's Factoria Cultural, Isabel Yáñez , and the vice president of the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation, Clemente García, today presented the ten scholarships to young entrepreneurs whose business projects have been selected by a specialized jury in front of more than fifty proposals presented.

"Performing arts, fashion and design, visual arts, architecture, cultural management, sustainable furniture, music and heritage are the disciplines in which these ten projects are specialized," said Mayor José Ballesta, who explained that "the young people selected will participate in a tutoring program and specialized accompaniment by the professionals of Factoría Cultural and they will have a work space at the Párraga Center that will provide them with a creative ecosystem suitable for the launch and consolidation of their business ideas ".

Among the scholarships in this first call for municipal aid for its development in Factoría Cultural are several projects that have participated in the CreaMurcia, the contest that promotes the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation.

In addition, the City Council has included in its cultural programming creative projects previously born in the Cultural Factory, such as the case of the musical 'RainRoad', which was very successful at the Romea Theater, and works developed in the Business Projects Competition of the CIM- M, like the show 'Scape Play', which sold out the tickets at the Circus Theater.

In this sense, José Ballesta reported that "from the City we are working to provide these young people and those who come behind a Network of Cultural and Creative Spaces that serve as a showcase to their ideas and where they can present their projects, relying on resources and existing as the Cultural Centers of the municipality or Murcia theaters.

The young scholars will begin their stay at the Factoria Cultural on February 1 and finish on July 31.

The City of Murcia pays the scholarships with a total amount of 25,000 euros.

Entrepreneurs will have at their disposal a business network in the field of cultural, creative entrepreneurship and innovation favorable for networking and the visibility of their business projects.

The scholars will participate in the Innovation Plan, a training itinerary that aims to turn their projects into sustainable enterprises.

Likewise, active experts with teaching experience, through face-to-face and on-line sessions and tutorials, consultancies and workshops, will accompany residents in all phases of development and implementation of their projects, from conception and incubation to acceleration and launching. to the market.

The ten projects of the Culture and Creativity Scholarships:

ALMALEON (Ascension Aparicio Léon) / Fashion: A brand of author jewelry and fashion accessories based on values ​​reflected in each piece that is identified with the unique symbol of the brand differentiating and identifying it.

COLLECTIVE SABOTAJE TEATRO (José Antonio Fuentes River) / Performing Arts: Creation of a professional company, limited society, of contemporary performing arts.

Multidisciplinary artistic creations with languages ​​typical of theater, journalism, plastic arts, visual and sound and integrated dance.

ECÓLOVY (Juan Rabadán Martínez) / Design: Sustainable furniture.

Furniture and decoration articles produced with recycled materials by people at risk of social exclusion.

ENCOUNTERS SOUND (Alejandro García Menchón) / Cultural Management: An alternative cultural agency with artistic events that bet on the various artistic branches and multiculturalism.

LA MIRATECA (Emilia Ruipérez Bastida) / Architecture: A contemporary architecture studio incorporating Design Thinking.

They intend to develop, through participatory architecture, executable projects where the information generated by the inhabitants of Barrio del Carmen generates data, proposals, initiatives, urban problems ...

MAMA CONFETTI (Gelén Ortín Riquelme) / Visual Arts: A space where we can meet or return to ourselves, using drawing and illustration;

with products within the field of illustration (posters, posters, downloadable, personalized murals ...) and within the field of childhood, (fashion accessories for children, accessories and tableware for parties, etc ...)

MUTOWN (Manuel Romero of Castellón Aguado) / Music: A record label dedicated to the production and diffusion of alternative black music, exclusively in vinyl format.

They launch projects in process, already edited in digital and developed by them, all mainly located in Murcia or Murcian artists, always from a hip-hop perspective.

PRODUCTS WITH ART (Inma Escudero Martínez) / Design: A project where art is made accessible to anyone by applying it to everyday objects such as cups, bags, purses, notepads, pendants, etc.

SGWEAR (Sandra González Nicolás) / Fashion: A different, daring and innovative clothing brand.

Its slogan is "Get hooked on fashion".

It is aimed at people between 17 and 26 years old, both boys and girls.

CHIRIBIRI HOUSE WORKSHOP (Matilde Tomás Fuster) / Heritage: Study-Workshop of graphic design and illustration, where besides working creating image projects, they work to develop the local heritage of the city of Murcia culturally, artistically and handcrafted.
