The Councilor for Social Rights of the City of Murcia, Conchita Ruiz, wanted to respond this afternoon to Margarita Guerrero, mayor of Cambiemos Murcia, after the accusation made about the work that is being carried out in the field of inclusive language.
For this reason, "I would like to remind you that the II Plan for Equal Opportunities between men and women is being finalized with nearly 100 measures that incorporate Equality as an essential tool in municipal work.
Training hours for women's centers increased from 1,136 in 2015 to 1,772 and in 2017 it went from 79 courses in 2016 to 110. A Guide against Sexist Language has been prepared and disseminated.
The cultural and artistic activities linked to the promotion of equality have been intensified and the "Femenino Plural" tours have been diversified.
Finally, a collaboration agreement has been approved with OMEP to carry out activities that favor entrepreneurship among women and the promotion of rural women, "said Conchita Ruiz.
These measures have been supported by economic support, which in 2017 meant an increase in the budget allocated to actions in the area of ​​promotion of equality at 47.75%, reaching 482,700 euros.
To all this the courses given in all the councils and their services to integrate the Equality of Opportunities between Women and Men in the planning, execution and evaluation of the municipal actions, to achieve the Gender Equality in the Municipality of Murcia are added.
