The PSOE claims the PP to take into account the neighbors of neighborhoods and districts when redesigning a program of parties (09/01/2018)

Affirms that, for example, Christmas activities have been held "in three streets of the city, so that stores and freelancers from the rest of the municipality can not benefit from the transfer and purchases of those dates"

The Municipal Socialist Group today called on the government team, led by Mayor Ballesta, to take into account all the neighbors equally when he returns to design a program of parties, since he always develops the numerous activities in three streets of the city , without thinking about the vast majority of Murcia who live in neighborhoods and districts.

In this sense, Councilor Begoña García Retegui has stated that "it is not fair or just that Ballesta and his team spend significant sums on parties that do not reach all our neighbors."

He added that already in the liquidation of the 2015 budget, the item for this concept was increased by 75.5%, going from the 2,136,096 euros foreseen to a final expenditure of 3,749,046 euros, while in 2016 the increase was of 97.2%, that is, it had budgeted 2,157,635 euros but 4,255,864 euros were disbursed at parties.

"It is curious that such bulky increases occur for activities that take place in three central streets, and especially when in the two years mentioned, not even 25% of the investment budget was reached, which is so much needed in districts", he said. punctuated.

Likewise, García Retegui has set as an example the recently completed Christmas program.

"There is no more to see the program of Christmas Parties and Three Wise Men to check on the map where the activities are located, from the Plaza Circular to the Garden of Floridablanca, passing through Santo Domingo, Cardinal Belluga and Glorieta. Murcia's concept of the PP and Mayor Ballesta, "he added.

Also, the councilor explained that "parties like Christmas always involve a large movement of citizens in the street that helps to reactivate trade, so I remember, in neighborhoods and districts there are also shops and freelancers who could benefit a lot more of Christmas shopping if the government team includes activities in its streets. "

Likewise, Garcia Retegui has indicated that "this continuous discrimination to the districts collides with the numerous activities in the center of Murcia that come to overlap" and warns that "we do not criticize the Christmas program, but we regret that it does not reach the Murcians who they live far from the center. "

Finally, he has applauded the work of many parents who, "with their effort and will have managed to develop their own Christmas programs, at the expense of the budgets of their municipal boards", for which he insisted on "a greater and better distribution of the money that the municipal government team allocates to festive activities.
