The Contracting Committee, chaired by the Councilor for Finance and Contracting, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva and attended by representatives of municipal political groups, has proposed the awarding of the reinforcement and improvement of lighting works in the Industrial West
The works, according to the proposal, will be carried out by Ferrovial Servicios with a budget of 127,772 euros, the starting price being 277,851 euros.
The works consist of replacing 377 sodium vapor luminaires with LED technology, replacing and repairing the columns that are in poor condition.
Likewise, 13 points of the polygon's garden area, 23 metal poles and five remote control centers will be replaced, and different channels and manholes will be repaired.
This eliminates the current installation that is around forty years old, so it has a very low light output and produces, by its configuration, great light pollution and high energy consumption.
In addition some staffs are very deteriorated.
The total power after the renovation will be 38 kW, while current is 105 kW.
These works will save 51,000 euros per year, which means a reduction of 65%.
In addition, the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere is reduced by 141 tons, from 221 to 80 tons.
The Industrial West is the most important industrial area of the municipality, with more than a thousand companies established in its more than three million square meters of extension.
With this project responds to the needs of employers and employees in the area allowing greater security and better visibility while helping to protect the environment and reduce CO2 emissions
