Patiño celebrates the XXX edition of the traditional Encuentro de Cuadrillas y Auroros, premiering a new initiative.

Thus, the district will host from next Thursday 11 to Saturday 13 January the 'Encounters around the balls' which includes the seventh edition of the Folkpelotas Festival and in which Murcia and visitors can participate in workshops and enjoy tastings and the 'Night of broth'.

The program, organized by the Cuadiño de Patiño, will begin on Thursday at 8:00 pm, in the Assembly Hall of the Municipal Center of Patiño, with the presentation of the project awarded with the Research Aid Manuel Cárceles Caballero 2017, 'I listen to my grandfather.

The intangible heritage as a historical source.

Customs, rituals, festivities and traditions of Patiño ', carried out by the researcher Ana Isabel Ponce Gea.

The fundamental objective of this work is to transfer to the new generations the knowledge and value of the heritage that makes up the environment where they operate.

For this, the study is articulated through two complementary phases: listening to the grandparents (through interviews and / or discussion groups) and working with the new generations (through didactic implementations and analysis of perceptions).

It aims to create a link between the two generations, transferring the oral memory of the streets of Patiño to formal education at their school.

Afterwards, the traditional balls offered by the Patiño Women's Center and Aguilandos festival and trophies by the Cuadiño de Patiño will take place.

On Friday the 12th, starting at 9.30 am, the students of the CEIP Martínez Tornel de Patiño will be able to participate in the Castañeta workshop in which they will be able to learn how to build this traditional instrument widely used in the Murcian garden during the Christmas cycle.

In the afternoon, from 19.30, you can enjoy the 'Night of Broth' in the Assembly Hall of the Municipal Center of Patiño, with melodies and voices cuadrilleras and dances.

The children of the CEIP Martínez Tornel will show what they learned during the morning workshop.

In addition there will be tasting of fritters and coffee.

On Saturday, starting at 11 am, in the Assembly Hall of the Patiño Municipal Center, the jota workshop will be held for all audiences and taught by Miguel Ángel Montesinos.

From 20.30, door of the Municipal Center of Patiño, the district will host the seventh edition of the Folkpelotas festival in which Juan José Robles and Pep Gimeno "Botifarra" trio will perform.

Later, the traditional Cantos de Aguilando and the traditional dance will take place, organized by Cuadiño de Patiño.

Juan José Robles will present his work 'Tiempo de Espera' in which the mandolin, the lute, the bandurria and the guitar are the main protagonists.

Pep Gimeno "Botifarra" Trio is an authentic idol for the public who knows the folk music.

Accompanied by a selection of musicians from his rondalla, this show will be a succession of jotas, fandangos, threshing songs, mazurcas, habaneras, malagueñas, granainas, romances ... And all this seasoned with the funny explanations, anecdotes and popular sayings that "BOTIFARRA" knows so well.
