The pedáneo mayor of Patiño, Antonio Jiménez, registered yesterday the documentation directed to the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia so that the Encounter of Gangs and the parties of 'The Pelotas' declare of Regional Tourist Interest, as it was approved in the Plenary Session of the City Council of Murcia last November unanimously by all the political groups.
Likewise, the Citizens Parliamentary Group registered an initiative urging the regional government to initiate the procedures to grant this deserved recognition as soon as possible.
Jiménez has registered the documentation so that "the procedures are accelerated and that this January 14, the date on which the celebrations that also celebrate 30 years are celebrated, the residents of Patiño, and involved groups can celebrate all this high and longed for recognition, and dedicate it to the memory of its founder, Manuel Cárceles 'El Patiñero'.
"All of them have contributed, with their effort, work and dedication, to maintain it, spread it and consolidate it over time," said Patiño, who pointed out that "with the granting of this declaration we will achieve more promotion and that our musical tradition and gastronomic reach a greater external projection ".
"The Patiñeros deserve this recognition and therefore we hope that the regional government formalize as soon as possible the procedures for its declaration as a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest", has ended.
