The City of Murcia allocates more than 150,000 euros for the promotion of trade in the municipality (01/01/2018)

Within the strategy of promoting local trade driven by the City of Murcia, the Department of Commerce will allocate two items with which seeks to boost trade and promotion of tourism through the promotion of activities aimed at modernizing, strengthening and give continuity to small and medium-sized businesses, promoting and boosting activities aimed at responding to the demands of the commercial and tourism sectors.

In this case are 134,000 euros that will be distributed among the fifteen merchants associations of Murcia and districts that will have the help of the Department: Murcia Center, Barrio del Carmen, Vistalegre, Murcia Triangle, Carmelite, Zarandona Acozar , Beniaján, Alquerías, Bacons Bridge, La Alberca, Silverware and Trapería, Sangonera la Verde, El Palmar Avanza, Corvera, Avileses and Campo de Murcia and Murcia Commercial Area Federation.

This step reinforces the support for actions and projects to promote retail activity in the territorial area of ​​each of the associations, such as fairs and fairs, the realization of "shopping night", Fashion catwalks at street level or bridal parades, shop window contests and training workshops, celebration of traditional Christmas programs with nativity scenes, activities for children and adults, parades, raffles, etc.

However, the association may allocate the funds received to the development of other actions and projects that are carried out in accordance with the guidelines and the other lines of action of the strategic plan such as communication and commercial advertising for the consolidation of the MUAC Brand, campaigns to promote associations and create trust networks, training and recycling of human resources: electronic commerce and new technologies or innovation programs for entrepreneurs in the retail sector.

It is necessary to remember that the Strategic Plan of Commerce, that at the moment is in operation in the municipality of Murcia, articulates in five fundamental axes:

- Commercial communication.

- Dynamization of commercial areas.

- Promotion of associationism and creation of networks of trust, reciprocity, solidarity and collaboration in traditional commerce.

- Training and recycling of human capital.

- Improvement of competitiveness.

Aid for supply places

But this is not the only measure approved in the field of trade, as it will also grant a subsidy of 26,500 euros to associations of merchants of Murcia and districts that operate in the different places of supplies of the municipality.

In general, the actions aimed at the modernization of these facilities will be eligible, as well as the realization of projects aimed at enhancing, invigorating and encouraging the commercial activity that takes place in them, carrying out, among others, activities of promotion and publicity campaigns of trade in squares.

The beneficiary associations will be able to allocate the received funds to the development of actions and projects that are executed in accordance with the guidelines and the rest of the lines of action of the aforementioned Strategic Plan and that specifically are the following:

- New technologies and electronic commerce, including the creation or enhancement of web pages and online commerce

- Communication and commercial advertising.

- Campaigns to promote associations.

- Training and recycling of human resources

The Plazas de Abastos benefited are those of Cabezo de Torres, El Carmen, La Alberca, Espinardo, Saavedra Fajardo, Veronicas, San Andrés and Vistabella, as well as the Federation of Municipal Markets of Murcia.
