225 streets and roads of all districts of the municipality will be renovated at the beginning of the year (29/12/2017)

The Governing Board has approved the award of the renovation of streets and roads of districts, which will allow the work, which will last for three months, begin in the coming weeks.

Thanks to the low presented by the contractors, 120 streets and roads will be added to the 105 initially planned, executing, in this way, the asphalting of a total of 225 vials whose overall length amounts to 43,343 linear kilometers (324,055 square meters).

All these streets have been proposed and approved by the different municipal councils prioritizing the asphalting of those that are in worse condition or that are more used by the residents of the different districts.

The project includes road repair works, road surface painting, repaving and street paving, with the aim of eliminating potholes, peeling, deformations and other damages, thus improving road safety.

To develop these works, the deteriorated areas of the pavement will be repaired first, then a cleaning and sweeping of the entire surface will be carried out, and finally a rolling layer of varying thickness will be laid out depending on the condition of the pavement.

Depending on the type and condition of the street, different types of material will be used:

?

Micro agglomerate: mixture used in rolling layers that provide or restore the surface characteristics of the road surface (slip resistance, surface drainability, sound ...), helping to optimize the operation of the entire road surface and significantly improving the comfort and safety of the road surface. user with a reduced cost.

?

Hot mix asphalt: it is used when there are important defects in the vial.

It is the most widespread type of asphalt mix.

• Triple surface treatment: allow the construction of low cost pavements, quickly, for low to medium traffic, and on existing pavements to improve texture and friction.

The Department of Development will invest 1,559,998 euros in these works that will be executed by Serrano Aznar Public Works (lots 1, 2 and 3 corresponding to the districts of the northern, central and western zones respectively) while those of lot 4 ( districts of the southeast) will be made by Bituminous Asphalts
