Serving children who are at risk of failure or dropping out of school and present a situation of vulnerability or social exclusion is one of the programs in which the Department of Social Rights works.

To this end, and in order to train and guide volunteers to offer a better service to children, the Governing Board has approved the specifications for the contracting of a service of promotion and technical support to the municipal volunteer service. the educational reinforcement and prevention of school absenteeism, aimed at minors in situations of vulnerability or social exclusion.

The purpose of the project is to prevent and compensate for the unfavorable situations of children who have school maladjustment and low academic performance derived from living in deficit contexts due to social, economic, cultural, geographic, ethnic and / or family problems, acquiring academic knowledge necessary for their full social integration.

This plan will benefit, on the one hand, some 170 children and, on the other, 150 volunteers who will participate in the activity, in addition to 65 educational centers involved in the initiatives.

The price for which the contract is tendered is € 123,420, for the two years of the contract.

The objective pursued is to encourage the participation of social volunteers in the prevention of failure, school absenteeism or early school leaving, of minors who are in a situation of vulnerability or social exclusion, through educational reinforcement for the improvement of their learning, both formal and non-formal.

Likewise, the project aims to train and guide volunteering so that children receive quality care, taking into account the stimulation of motivation, the creation of habits, the learning of study techniques and the improvement of confidence in their own abilities. .

It is also a question of technically supporting the volunteers who participate in the project in the aspects necessary for the prevention of absenteeism, dropout and school failure, through the development of school reinforcement activities.
