The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Murcia Juan Vicente Larrosa has come out to the step of the malaise that exists between the candidates to become local police in the municipality of Murcia and has criticized the Government Team led by Mayor José Ballesta for allowing the bases of the oppositions impose to the candidates that are higher than, for example, the national policemen, and that they must have the driver's license A, which can only be obtained once they have reached the age of 20.
After almost nine years without a call for employment for the Local Police and this being a demand made by the PSOE on repeated occasions, as also is the one referring to the Fire Department, the Consistory offers 47 seats for municipal agents, 20% of which are reserved for mobility of agents that already belong to the template.
Once the established requirements are known, the first allegations have been presented to the bases of these oppositions challenging aspects such as claiming to be in possession of the necessary license to drive any type of motorcycle, the A, which prevents young people under 20 from opting to one of those jobs.
In principle, the Law of Coordination of Local Police of the Region was not going to require such a license, but for the oppositions in Murcia it has been included by decision of the Governing Board.
Another reason for controversy is the minimum height required to opt to be a local police in Murcia -1,70 meters for men and 1,65 for women-.
From the unions it has been claimed that this cap be reduced by 5 centimeters.
"The minimum height required is higher than that raised for the National Police and is also higher than that applied in other European countries," said Juan Vicente Larrosa, who, on the need to have the card A, has pointed out that "Murcia is the only municipality in which a traffic permit is required that is superior to that of both the National Police and the Civil Guard when the agents of those bodies control traffic on highways and motorways."

On the other hand, the socialist mayor, who recalled that his party presented allegations to the General Negotiating Table on November 24, has assured that the modification of driver's license A will generate "an avalanche of challenges" between candidates to occupy any of the vacancies in the staff of the Local Police and from the PSOE show their surprise for the demands raised in the bases of the opposition and that will lead to new resources until January 19, 2018, which is the date in which closes the deadline to contest.
"If the terms of the opposition do not change, we are facing a possible fudge from the Popular Party of José Ballesta and we fear that all this will delay further these access tests that are so necessary. more in the party than in the local police ", concluded Larrosa, who believes that changes in the bases can be arbitrated by basing them on a draft that is not yet definitively approved.
