The PSOE demands that the Hiring Surveillance Commission review the awarding of the La Glorieta parking lot for "serious deficiencies" (22/12/2017)

The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Murcia Juan Larrosa has denounced "the neglect" of the Government of José Ballesta in the management of the concessions of the Consistory, which is especially latent in the case of the public parking of La Glorieta, which presents "serious deficiencies that convey a bad image of the city" and has influenced the Hiring Surveillance Commission to review this award.

The aforementioned parking, with capacity for more than 500 cars and which is normally complete or close to the full, has been managed since 1989 by the company Empark Aparcamientos y Servicios SA, which obtained the municipal concession for a period of 40 years -until 2029-.

This company, which was also responsible for the parking of Santa Isabel until the municipal developer Urbamusa took over its management, has several files opened by the City Council due to the poor state of the parking located in the Glorieta de España , in which some works are being undertaken.

"There are puddles motivated by leaks, chipped walls, loose slabs, broken steps in the accesses ... all this together with the fact that it is an installation with very little lighting", Larrosa commented, who has made an inventory of these structural deficiencies to which " you have to solve them. "

"Arriving in Murcia and parking the vehicle in this car park is not exactly the best letter of introduction," said the Socialist councilor, who, after visiting the public parking in the city, has checked the situation of them and, no doubt, that the one that is in worse conditions is of the Glorieta.

"In the Plano de San Francisco and Plaza Santoña, for example, we noticed that an elevator is missing and in the first of them there are works to build toilets," Larrosa said.

"Once again, the Ballesta Government's lack of care in the management of concessions is evident as they are not adequately monitored and the mayor's team does not explain what is being done." In June we demanded to be told what to do. inspections had been carried out and what sanctions had been imposed and we were told that a protocol would be applied to assess the actions to be taken, and six months later we are still waiting for an answer, "Larrosa explained.

Exposed the matter, the Municipal Socialist Group requests to the Department of Traffic, once it designed a plan of inspection of the public car parks of the municipality, that "forces the concessionaires to fulfill the exigencies of the users who pay to leave the car in these equipments and that the contracts in the Surveillance Commission are revised to purge possible responsibilities, "the socialist mayor also pointed out.
