Students of the UMU collaborate with various NGOs in the call for development cooperation projects (21/12/2017)

Nine students of the Master in Economic Development and International Cooperation of the University of Murcia, attached to the Faculty of Economics and Business, have obtained grants in the call for International Cooperation for Development of the City of Murcia.

The students, coordinated by the professor of the subject, Eugenio J. Sánchez and by the representatives of the participating NGDOs: Rodolfo Arias and José Cervantes from the NGO Ayuda a los Niños de BoliviaOikía;

Nabil Mesli of the Cepaim Foundation and Mª Fernanda Sánchez of the FADE Foundation, worked in teams, putting into practice the knowledge acquired during their training.

The work has been a very enriching teaching experience, since it has allowed to put into practice in real projects the theoretical knowledge about identification and formulation of cooperation projects.

It is noteworthy that all the projects submitted have obtained funding, amounting to 33,000 euros the aid granted to the following NGOs:

NGO Help the Children of Bolivia-Oikía.

"Training house for the maturation of young people in the street, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia".

CEPAIM project.

"Promotion of universal basic education and the reduction of illiteracy in the town of Tanime and Thieng II, Senegal".

FADE Foundation.

"Project of access to sanitation services at the Jean Bosco school, Haiti".

The work teams were formed by the following students:

Team 1. Filomena Albano, María Elena Martínez Ochoa, and Marta Berbell Jiménez.

Team 2. Pedro Alcaraz Saura, Mario Panzarella, and Min Shen.

Team 3. Juan Xavier Valencia Quiñones, Juan Antonio Campillo Cascales and Jeanneth Tadeo León.
