NOW MURCIA denounces that "the clearly insufficient endowment of health resources in the municipality is fertile ground for the serious collapses suffered by hospitals these days and that will foreseeably worsen in the coming weeks with the onset of the flu."

The spokesperson of the municipal group, Alicia Morales, recalls that "many of the needs of the municipality in terms of health resources have been raised in the Plenary Session of the City Council and have been approved in the form of motions, which echo the demands of groups of users and professionals ".

Morales points out that "the municipality continues to need two new SUAPs (Primary Care Emergency Services), in addition to the SUAP in the northern area that has significant shortcomings, in addition to the fact that health centers do not open in the afternoons and that there are pediatric emergencies in the Morales Meseguer and Reina Sofía hospitals. "

The councilor explained that the SUAP in the north does not have direct attention to the public and only has an ambulance, making much-needed investments "so that the center can adequately serve the neighbors both in home visits as in person."

The spokeswoman of Ahora Murcia underlines "the serious deficit in health care that means that for 3 health areas we only have pediatric emergencies, those of the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital." Only one of the hospitals in the municipality has this service so important is one of the health deficiencies that urgently needs to be solved ".

Alicia Morales recalls that the City Council has also recently approved a motion for the health centers of the municipality to open in the afternoon depending on the needs of each area, and reiterates the demand of the groups and the opposition that "the City Council and the Autonomous Community carry out an adequate planning of health resources, according to the population requirements and geographical dispersion of the municipality, doing it will improve the service offered throughout the year to Murcia and Murcia and will help to avoid collapses in the periods of greatest influx to health centers ".

"In Now Murcia we claim from our arrival at the City Council that the residents of the municipality have the right to a quality public health and on equal terms regardless of the time of year and the area where they reside," says the mayor, who "thanks the dedication and professionalism of the health professionals of the emergency services in the situation we are living these days."
