La Glorieta will become a European-inspired Christmas Market with live music, handicraft market, tastings and storytelling (16/12/2017)

The Glorieta de España de Murcia will undergo a remarkable transformation from Monday 18 to become a new Christmas Market that will remain open until the night of Saturday, December 23.

An environment of European inspiration that will have wooden booths, a stage where every day there will be live music, gastronomic area and spaces for children's workshops.

An initiative that is born fruit of the work of the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation and the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture.

"This is one of the great novelties in the calendar of activities that the City of Murcia has scheduled for this Christmas, a unique space where visitors can see first-hand the latest work of artisans of our city, taste typical products , listen to young musicians and many of the artists who have gone through the CreaMurcia Contest or enjoy gastronomy in the space reserved for the Food Trucks ", explained the Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Pérez.

A space that will have a special decoration and Christmas elements and along the Glorieta will be articulated as a walk to host the Market on both sides of a central stage where musical performances and activities for children will happen.

In addition there will be tastings of wines, cheeses or sweets and there will be hot drinks such as chocolate or wine to accompany cakes and tarts in the gastronomic area.

Between 18 and 20 the Market will host a sample of the following Murcia creators and artisans: Dpalo Sunglasses, La Boutique de Mika, Vintage Radio, World Chick, Infinite Beats, 100 and hundreds, Cosmic Girl, Details with Carmen Mª, Espartéame and Alaluna.

On Monday 18th the music will be by Eli Poveda (13:30 h), DJ Javi Montreal (17: 00-19: 30h) and Stupid Flanders (20: 30-21: 30h), on Tuesday 19 Ms. DJ will perform (17: 00-19: 30h) and The Lawyer (20: 00-21: 30 hours), while on Wednesday 20. DJ Javi Montreal (17: 00-19: 00h) and the Violin Dúo, José Néstor Tomás and Antonio Navarro, at 6:00 p.m.

On Thursday 21, and until the end of the Christmas Market on Saturday 23, there will be 10 new creators who can count on this incomparable setting to publicize their work.

Thus, Pair of Dolls, Marta's Project, Details with Carmen Mª, Monstri Monstri, Iskia, Sasasú, Espartéame, Isabel Puig, Encuéntame and Anita Dinamita will occupy the wooden huts located in the Plaza.

On Thursday the 21st, Rey Lobo will perform at 1:30 p.m., Ms T DJ from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Adiós Nicole at 8:00 p.m., on Friday the 22nd, the Hecuba Dúo (Agustín Fernández and Celia Inglés) at 1:00 p.m., DJ Javi Montreal from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Ayoho at 8:15 p.m. and on Saturday, Alex Juarez accompanied by Rey Lobo at 1:30 p.m., DJ Drachma starting at 5:00 p.m. and In Pulses, to close, at 8:00 p.m.

In addition, both on Friday and Saturday, there will be two storytelling sessions for the little ones at 6:00 p.m.
