"No lights for Christmas in El Palmar" (14/12/2017)

In these dates it is usual for the towns of the Region of Murcia to decorate and illuminate to celebrate Christmas and encourage the use of local commerce to carry out our Christmas shopping.

However, in the hamlet of El Palmar, governed by Citizens after reaching a government pact with the PSOE, this does not happen.

While in many districts and towns of Murcia and have their Christmas lights on, in El Palmar are not even installed in the absence of ten days to celebrate Christmas.

A situation that has caused concern and discomfort in the neighbors, and especially in the local merchants, who are being the most affected and which is a detriment to their Christmas campaign.

This circumstance is repeated for another year, since the previous year the lighting began to be installed on December 8, the same day that the procession of the Patron Saint of El Palmar goes out to the streets, demonstrates the lack of diligence , neglect and neglect in their functions by the government team of Citizens.

And is that the Christmas lighting budget requested by the President of the Municipal Board of El Palmar, is dated November 27, dates in which other districts had already begun to install their Christmas lights.

The lack of foresight and the slowness when requesting a budget according to the needs of a hamlet like El Palmar, has caused that in addition to being the last town that is going to have its Christmas lights installed, it is also the one that has the lighting that has been discarded by other districts and towns in the Region of Murcia.

The Pedáneo de Ciudadanos has achieved that something that in other times was unthinkable has happened under his mandate as it is that the celebrations celebrated in the first week of December as well as the Procession of the Patroness of El Palmar, the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, have celebrated without any ornament or festive lighting.

The Popular Group in the Municipal Board of El Palmar has expressed on several occasions its perplexity and concern at the lack of diligence in the management that Citizens has been doing since the assumption of the government of the parish, demonstrating its inability to manage a large budget and its inefficiency to respond to the most urgent and important needs of the residents of El Palmar.
