The councilman of Cambiemos Murcia Nacho Tornel said today that he expects "what is left of the bike lane" of Avenida Miguel Induráin, after the City Council has decided to recover the three lanes for cars and allocate a smaller route to bicycles, "Do not be another fudge".
"This lane is not just another lane, it is one of the first projects, it should be taken as a more serious issue if we want to move from the 'Murcia sustainable city' of the papers to 'Murcia sustainable city and de facto cyclable'", said Tornel .
The mayor has asked about the fact that it is the Department of Development, and not the Office of the Bicycle, which are represented various groups, who manages the new design of the bike lane.
In this sense, has questioned the reason why the City has "set aside this body", whose consultation is mandatory, and that it does plan the rest of bike lanes.
"It is inevitable to think, given the steps of the government team, Urbamusa will be responsible for executing the new work," added Tornel, for whom it is "incomprehensible" that the City Council has taken this decision unilaterally despite the fact that Observatory will meet imminently.
Still on the starting line
The municipal training has considered that Murcia "continues on the starting line" in relation to the urban adaptation to the safe and useful development of bicycle mobility.
"The international recognitions are smoke, the reality is very different", he added.
