Murcia shows its belenistic potential with the exhibition of 32 groups in the urban area and districts (07/12/2017)

Murcia will show its Christmas potential this Christmas with the exhibition of 32 sets of which 15 will be located in districts.

To publicize all these nativity scenes, with their location, visiting hours and a short description, 10,000 leaflets of 'Murcia, city of the nativity scene' have been published and can be collected at the Tourist Office, hotels and centers municipal districts.

The municipal Bethlehem of this year, located in the Episcopal Palace, has been made by the Belenista Association José de Nazaret de la Arboleja and by the Association of Native Fountain Friends of Fuente Álamo.

It is of the local style and is decorated in the 19th century garden, and is made with porexpan, plaster, cork bornizo and natural vegetation.

It is also complemented by the figures of artisans Manuel Nicolás Almansa, Carlos Enrique Cuenca García, Jesús Ramírez Tupín and the young Murcian sculptor Francano.

The crib is made up of traditional mysteries (Annunciation of the Angel to the Virgin Mary, The Dream of Saint Joseph, Asking for Posada, People's Square and Market, Annunciation to the Shepherds, Birth, Cavalcade of the Magi, Degollación de los Inocentes and Flight to Egypt from the Holy Family) to which the Miracle of Wheat has been added.

The councilman Jesus Pacheco has also announced that next year this Bethlehem municipal will be carried out by the Belenista Association of Los Martínez del Puerto who for several years have created the parish nativity scene of the parish of about 70 square meters on two levels.

With this group they have won six first prizes in the nativity contest organized by the Belenista Association of Murcia.

In addition, for some years they have collaborated in other works such as the construction of the monumental Bethlehem in the Palace of San Esteban in Murcia at Christmas 2015 and the creation and assembly of the scenery for the Bethlehem of Salzillo in the Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao last year.

On the other hand, during this Christmas, Murcia and visitors can return to enjoy a living huertano birth in La Glorieta that can be visited from December 26 to 30 and in which there will be performances on 26, 28 and 30 at 18 hours.
