NOW MURCIA demands a solution for the workers of the municipal contract of street lighting, since within a few months they could lose their seniority and acquired rights or even stay on the street, all due to the new documents submitted by the City Council, that do not force subrogation.

The councilor Alicia Morales met today with representatives of the works committee of this municipal contract, to see first-hand the delicate situation that lives this more than fifty workers, some of them with more than 30 years in the company.

"We have been concerned by the fact that the new documents presented by the City Council do not oblige the company to win the tender to subrogate the workers," says Morales, who requires the municipal government to take measures to prevent serious jeopardy. rights of these workers.

The spokeswoman of Now Murcia notes that "it is one more example of the chaotic situation of this City Council, in which outsourcing and interests at the service of private companies have prevailed in the 22 years of government of the PP, going to the detriment of the workers, their rights and their working conditions ".

Now Murcia has addressed the council of Development and Finance and Hiring to request information about the absence in the specifications of the articles of the Public Sector Contracts Law and the Workers' Statute on the subrogation of workers in this public lighting service.

The municipal training has also requested the first drafts of the sheet, to check if they included references to these articles, which at some point were eliminated, "since in the last contract, made a few years ago, subrogation was required the winning company of the contest ".

Alicia Morales also points out that the lists that the City Council has sent do not include a list of current workers-nor, therefore, their seniority nor the cost of payroll-but only a summary table with the posts cover".
