Felipe Coello, Councilor for Sports and Health, presented this morning with Alonso Gómez López, General Director of Sports, with the representative of the Decyde Association, Fernando Zaplana, and with Juan Carlos García, of Maite confectioneries, the Masters Murcia Basketball tournament 'Mamba 2017' to be held on days 8, 9 and 10 of the Prince of Asturias and Santa María de Gracia pavilions.
In this sporting event, which has been organized by the Decyde Association and the Triple Triple collective, it is expected a participation of 300 veteran athletes between 40 and 60 years, coming from up to 10 different countries such as Russia, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Uruguay, United Kingdom or Italy.
This Friday the tournament opens with an exhibition match between TripleDoble and the veterans of Joventut de Badalona that will arrive with legends such as Tomás Jofresa or Juanan Morales, Olympics in Barcelona 92 ​​and European champions in 94.
This competition has two phases, a general classification, in which all the teams will play two games to establish the step to the final phase, and a classification by finals, where the final will be played for the championship.
It has four categories: by age (one for athletes over 40 and one for over 50) and by gender.
Each team will be composed of between 10 and 12 players.
In addition, this tournament will be broadcast live, consists of four categories and provides an estimated audience of 50,000 viewers across Europe.
