A great story, an epic soundtrack and pop music themes will occupy the stage of the Romea Theater this weekend with Rainroad (05/12/2017)

A great story, an epic soundtrack and a series of pop music tracks with electronic touches, that will even provoke the desire to dance, are the ingredients of Rainroad The Musical, whose absolute premiere will take place at the Teatro Romea on Friday and Saturday.

The libretto and music have been created by the Murcia Mercedes, Blanca and Alicia Morote and María González.

It takes place in industrial England in the 19th century and takes place in the city of Rainroad, when the arrival of the train changes the lives of its inhabitants.

The work aims to captivate the public through impossible loves, trips to the other side of the world, controversial judgments, powerful musical numbers, classical choreography mixed with urban dances and oriental environments along with a great soundtrack.

It contains universal and current issues, such as the need to adapt to new realities, industrial advances, justice, and of course, love and uncertain destiny.

'Together with all these elements, which are enormously attractive in themselves, I can not pass up the opportunity to highlight the Murcian origin of its creators, who have managed to maintain their roots with an unquestionable European and international tinge', pointed out the Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, at the presentation of the musical, in which he also took the opportunity to express his 'profound satisfaction that a production of our city is presented for the first time to its audience and in its theater'.

40 actors, singers, dancers and musicians

The cast is composed of twenty-eight actors, plus a group of eight singers and a band of five musicians.

Fernando Pereñíguez (Adrian), Naiara Rubio (Stella), Isabel Carretero (Alisha), Pepe Alacid (Sydney), Abel Alcázar (Peter), Alba Carrillo (Kate) and Silvia Sustacha (Rose) lead the cast of a choral narrative.

The stage direction corresponds to Mercedes and Blanca Morote, with musical direction by Alicia Morote, choreography by Isabel Carretero and Antonio Martínez, costumes by María Aguirre and Almudena Ruipérez, technical direction by Fernando Cano and lighting by Octavio Gómez.

40 professionals form the cast of actors, singers, dancers and musicians, as well as costume and stage designers, responsible for social networks, audiovisual production, musical direction, lighting, sound, etc.

forming a team of more than 80 people.
