The PSOE asks the City Council to "take seriously" the defense of the Huerta and denounces apathy and danger in Guadeloupe (01/12/2017)

The Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Murcia requires the local government team to "take seriously" the patrimonial defense of the Huerta and denounces the poor state of the canal Churra La Nueva, which shows "abandonment, neglect and sadness ", as councilor Enrique Ayuso acknowledges.

In a visit made to the district of Guadalupe in the company of the mayor of this town, the socialist mayor Sebastian Peñaranda, both checked the deficiencies of the aforementioned channel.

"We denounce the state of neglect and neglect that we observe, with reeds, weeds, abandonment and sadness in a very crowded area close to the urban center of Guadalupe," explains Ayuso, who demands that the Consistory "put order and order the necessary cleaning those responsible for this ditch. "

The councilor of the PSOE states that "the defense of the Huerta is not only the sponsorship of some private acts but requires the maintenance of a traditional and historical water network of the municipality that in some places is so threatened" and that is why it claims the City Council that "really take that defense seriously".

In the specific case of the Churra La Nueva ditch, a multitude of invasive canes have grown in it as a result of their lack of care, which has also led to the dumping of a lot of trash and large unusable objects such as doors and fences. of plastic.

"Acting in the area is a must to preserve a heritage asset and to avoid real danger in the area of the ditch, where there have been five fires in the last two years," says Sebastián Peñaranda, who, as head of the Municipal Board of Guadalupe, executed the cleaning of the land adjacent to the aforementioned ditch.

This waterway, which has more than 60 bracers, dates from Roman times, although its current format arose in the Muslim era, towards the middle of the 15th century, being one of the hydraulic channels that supply the Murcia countryside.

The ditch, which was built as a boundary between two lands, a boundary between two lands that were in cultivation and whose boundaries were intermingled, is located in the North Greater Inheritance and covers the hamlets of Javalí Viejo, La Ñora, Guadalupe and Monteagudo.
