Cambiemos Murcia proposes a contest of ideas for the landscape adaptation of the A-30 highway at the height of the Malecón (29/11/2017)

The councilman of Cambiemos Murcia Nacho Tornel has presented a motion to the plenary session tomorrow, which will request the implementation of an ideas competition for the landscape adaptation of the A-30 highway from the river Segura to Almenara street. edil explained that the objectives of this action are to improve the presence of the highway in the vicinity of the Malecón, integrate the bridges in this asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), solve the slope that hides the masonry wall of the walk and contribute to the organization of this space. According to the proposal of the municipal training, the contest of ideas would be aimed at the participation of multidisciplinary teams and its jury composed of specialists in culture, architecture and landscaping.

The winning project would entail the commitment of the execution of the work, which would be financed with municipal resources.

Tornel has pointed out that one of the points of greatest degradation of the Paseo del Malecon is the part that runs along the highway where, due to the strong impact that this infrastructure suffers from the pressure of the vehicles, there is the accumulation of garbage, broken pavements, painted and even a slope "that should be abolished for violating the Law of Patrimony".

This situation is aggravated by the deficiencies that the Malecón already suffers, with specially degraded facilities and points that violate the fundamental conservation norms and the lack of momentum of the Special Protection Plan - still pending final approval - that helps the survival of this environment.
