Murcia launches the first park adapted with pictograms for children with autism spectrum disorder (29/11/2017)

Framed within the activities that are being carried out on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the councilors of Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz and of Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, visited this morning the first garden adapted for boys and girls with ASD, autism spectrum disorder, from the municipality of Murcia.

A tour that they have made accompanied by representatives of the Association ASTEAMUR.

"It is a space adapted and accessible, fun and stimulating for children with and without disabilities, which has an added value since its objective is the integration of functional diversity." In addition, the game and interaction with the environment is the great learning tool in childhood, and thanks to adapted and inclusive parks the opportunity to socialize and have fun in a standardized way is offered ", explained the Councilor for Social Rights.

The design of this park is characterized by being surrounded by a fence with several access doors and therefore it is a secluded place or because it is not close to main roads, which makes it a quiet space.

It also has a water fountain and several benches where you can sit as a family, a children's leisure park and some steps where you can do public activities.
