The Local Commerce Council prioritizes the aid line of 300,000 euros for the businesses affected by the burial (27/11/2017)

At the constituent meeting of this participatory body the main associations and federations of the sector of the whole municipality have attended.

The draft of the guidelines for the line of grants of up to 2,000 euros per business has been presented, for the payment of rental income and self-employed quotas, intended for businesses in the vicinity of the works.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Trade, Organization and Institutional Relations, Maruja Pelegrín, today presided over the constitution of the Local Trade Council, made up of representatives of the main associations and federations of the sector of the entire municipality, Official Chamber of Commerce of Murcia, the General Directorate of Commerce of the CARM and the political groups of the City of Murcia.

José Ballesta said that "this Council was born thanks to the impulse of the entire municipal Corporation, which agreed to its creation and regulation unanimously" and added that "it is a plural body of participation and advice, which we believe includes all the institutional and commercial of the municipality ".

In the working meeting, the draft of the bases of the 1st Call for the granting of subsidies for the economic activities of proximity in the vicinity of the works of the burial project on its way through Murcia has been presented.

The City Council, through the Socioeconomic Local Observatory of Murcia (La Asomada), in collaboration with the University of Murcia, has presented the diagnosis made for the analysis of the potential economic impact generated by the execution of the works on the business establishments of proximity in the area of ​​affectation.

In this study, 313 proximity activities are identified that are located in the affectation zone of the burial, on which the City Council establishes aid for the consolidation of small and medium-sized enterprises and mitigate the possible effects of the works.

These aids may also other businesses in the vicinity of the roads that justify that they are affected in some way by the works.

The draft of the bases to access the aid presented in the Local Council of Commerce establishes an amount of 300,000 euros that will be established in two periods: until May 2018 and until October 2018. The maximum amount to be granted to each beneficiary will be 2,000 euros.

The eligible expenses that are included in the line of grants are the payment of rental income and the fees paid to the Social Security as self-employed (both those of the employer and those of their workers).

The objective is to strengthen neighborhood trade in the area affected by the underground works that began on November 15, with direct support measures that allow small and medium businesses to maintain jobs, contribute to the payment of rental income and Social Security fees.

After this first constitutive session, the members of the Local Council of Commerce will make their contributions and improvements to the bases in the next working meeting, which will take place in the middle of next January.

The constituent meeting of the Local Trade Council was attended by representatives of the Association of Large Distribution Companies 'ANGED', the Regional Federation of Hotel and Tourism Companies (Hostemur), the Murcia Commercial Area Federation, the Federation of Street Vendors, the Supermarkets Association Region of Murcia, the Association of Merchants of the Plazas de Abastos and the Associations of Merchants of Zarandona, Alquerías, Beniaján, El Carmen, of Platería-Trapería, Triangle of Murcia, Murcia Center, Carmelitanos, La Alberca, Bacons Bridge, La Flota , Sangonera la Verde and El Palmar.
