The PSOE is grateful for the creation of the Local Council of Commerce but asks to "get out of today's photo and resolve the many deficiencies" Councilman Sebastián Peñaranda recalls that the closed positions in the squares of supplies (27/11/2017)

The Municipal Socialist Group thanked the launch of the Local Council of Commerce, as "we have repeatedly claimed," but warns that "the next step is to get out of today's photo and solve the many shortcomings of the trade of the municipality".

Councilman Sebastián Peñaranda recalled that this Local Trade Council, which has started today although it was proposed two legislatures ago by the Socialist Group, has to "favor a policy of defense of traditional trade and also supply squares" and , in addition, "must activate a specific development agency to support the sector".

He also said that "one of the pending subjects are the supply markets, where there are many closed positions, while the small business suffers the effects of a policy that has spoiled the large areas."

For this reason, it considers necessary awareness campaigns that reactivate traditional trade "since besides being a stimulator of the economy it is also a creator of local employment".

However, added Peñaranda, "there is a lot of deterioration and neglect on the part of the political leaders, especially if we refer to the commerce in districts, so this Council must resolve the existing deficiencies and for this, one of the first steps is incorporate all the merchants' associations and listen to them. "

Also, "we hope to be present political groups in order to continue contributing ideas," he said.

The Local Trade Council, like the Consumer Council, were proposals that the PSOE put as a condition to be included in the 2017 Municipal Budgets.
