The collaboration between the Department of Development, which runs Roque Ortiz, and the concessionaire Ferrovial Services has allowed the creation of a new mobile application, 'Retorecicla', whose goal is to encourage and help Murcia to recycle.
Thus, it includes all the information that the citizen may need about the collection of waste in the municipality and the care of the environment
Through an interactive menu you can access different utilities such as the recycling converter, the 3 Rs, where to recycle, ecopunto or the Retorecicla game.
In this way, the recycling converter allows to know how much energy is saved, how many trees are saved, how much water is not wasted and other curious facts that will encourage Murcians to recycle.
To do this, remember that recycling a plastic bottle saves the energy needed to keep a light bulb on for six hours or that for every kilo of recycled paper the 8 liters of water needed for its preparation is saved
Another of the sections seeks to enhance the 3 Rs (reduces, reuses and recycles) by disclosing curiosities about recycling and awakening the interest and awareness of users.
In 'Where to recycle' it is made known where each of the waste must be deposited and locate the nearest containers, through the GPS of the mobile phone.
In 'Ecopunto' explains what waste can be deposited in this resource that the City makes available to Murcia and provides the location and schedules of the various ecopoints of the municipality.
In addition, you can request the collection service of furniture and large appliances directly for the service to organize the withdrawal.
Finally, the game 'Retorecicla' of visual dexterity and memory challenges users to know what residue goes in each container with different levels of difficulty and that, in addition, allows to compete and play with other users.
The councilor for Development, Roque Ortiz, explained that "we continue to incorporate the various services we offer from the City and the concessionaire innovative elements such as this application with which we pretend that there are no excuses to recycle."
To publicize this application, especially among the young population, a free 'battle of roosters' has been organized to be held on Friday, December 1, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Artillery Barracks.

So those who download the application will enter the draw of a Smartphone the day of the event.
