The City Council provides 88 more police and fire positions in just three years (24/11/2017)

It supposes a convocation of places equivalent to more than 10% of the current templates of the security bodies.

The City Council has provided 88 more places for police and firefighters since 2015, responding to the commitment to strengthen the areas that work for the safety of Murcia.

For this, the General Negotiation Table of the City of Murcia, chaired by the Councilor for Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, has made significant progress in the meeting held this morning.

On the one hand, with the approval of the bases for the convocation of 47 places of Local Police agent, of which 21 correspond to the employment offer of 2016 and 26 to the one of 2017.

It has also been agreed that the total of the offer of employment for this year allowed by the legislative restrictions, limited to 37 places, will be formed by the 26 police positions mentioned, while the remaining 11 will be reserved for firefighters.

In this way, the reinforcement of the security forces in the last three job offers -corresponding to 2015, 2016 and 2017- has led to the creation of 41 fire stations - of which 30 in 2015, which have just completed the phase of opposition and are about to join the academy and 11 this year-, and 86 police -68 of the EPO of 2016 and 2017 and 18 by the mobility systems-.

This supposes a call for places equivalent to more than 10% of the current staff.

In this way, the effort made by the City Council in the last three years, in which the increase in staff has been made fundamentally with the aim of consolidating the security services, both police and firefighters, is highlighted. to the commitment announced by this Corporation.

On the other hand, the negotiation table has also approved the general bases that must govern in the calls for employment corresponding to the offer of 2015, the year in which the largest offer of public employment in history by the City Council was approved. located in almost a thousand places.

The agreement reached today affects both officials and labor workers.

"It is an achievement of great importance for the City Council and its workers, who have within their reach the possibility of consolidating employment, thus improving their future prospects and working conditions," said Guillen, who also wanted to thank the will to dialogue and reach agreements that unions have demonstrated, since only from the understanding we can take firm steps to allow greater stability to the workforce and continue the process of modernization of the City Council to give a better service to citizens' .

This is an important advance aimed at 'continuing to increase efficiency, effectiveness and productivity and, therefore, provide better care for Murcia, which is our priority objective,' concluded Guillén.
