The elderly of La Albatalía march against Gender Violence (22/11/2017)

More than a hundred older people from the social center of the Albatalía and other points of the municipality have participated this morning in a new edition of the march 'The Elderly against gender violence', in which the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, has participated Gentleman.

The activity is framed in the programming of awareness-raising activities on the occasion of the International Day for the elimination of violence against women, which takes place on Saturday, November 25, in different parts of the municipality.

For this reason, since last Monday, meetings and debates, communication campaigns, distribution of ties, workshops, etc. have been taking place.

aimed at all groups especially women, seniors and minors.

Ruiz Caballero said that "every act of violence against a woman is always a direct attack against the fundamental rights of people and we must continue to fight tirelessly to end this problem, which is incompatible with freedom."

"The awareness of all people and the youngest is the fundamental basis for eradicating sexist violence and that is why we must promote education in the values ​​of equality", concluded the Councilor for Social Rights.

Act Saturday, November 25

After the march the Councilor for Social Rights, accompanied by the Director General of Women and Equality of Opportunities of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Alicia Barquero, announced the joint event to be held on the morning of Saturday 25, International Day for the eradication of Violence Against Women.

From 12:00 in the morning the Plaza de Romea will host the conference 'Weaving networks against violence against women', which will feature a sample of social and institutional entities that will convey the importance of their work throughout the year .

The performance, "Stop it, do not be an accomplice" of the IES Villa de Alguazas, and the reading of an institutional manifesto will also be carried out.

Finally, the group Fémina Proyect will put the finishing touch with a musical performance that will invite all the attendees to be part of the protest day.

The Councilor for Social Rights explained during the presentation that this act aims to make "an appeal to end this scourge and achieve a 'just' society," where women and their children are not in situations of violence in the family environment and they can live in freedom ".

That same day the municipal pavilion "José María Cagigal" will host from 10:00 hours the Course-Masterclass of self-defense for women, "I can defend myself" in which you can participate by registering at murcia@sedefendermesola.com or whatsApp at no. : 692.11.11.17.

At 11:00 a new edition of the guided tours 'Feminine Plural' will be carried out that under the theme of "Education and teachers" will present aspects of the history of the municipality from the point of view of women.
