The City Council of Murcia collaborates with support activities, social, cultural, psychological and counseling support for the widowed woman (21/11/2017)

Social Rights will collaborate with the Salzillo Widow Association of the municipality with a grant of 3,500 euros thanks to the approval of the agreement by the Governing Board of the City of Murcia.

The association has been collaborating with the consistory, from the Department of Social Rights, participating in training and awareness-raising activities on gender equality, as well as carrying out support and support actions for women who are referred by the Women's Section and they require it.

Likewise, it develops an important task of social integration and prevention of social isolation, with widows of the municipality through the different training, cultural and social promotion activities that they develop, for which it is essential to have a social place that same time serve as a meeting place.

The main objective to be achieved with the project of activities that they present is to carry out their support activities, help (social, cultural, psychological) and counseling of the widow.

For which it is essential to maintain the headquarters of the Association of Widows "Salzillo" in the Fontanar building in the Plaza de Sto.

Domingo de Murcia, for which the amount of the subsidy is destined.

A collaboration benefiting women widows of the municipality belonging to the association, as well as other women who derive from the Women's Section or other associations.

Currently they have 100 associates, and the number of women beneficiaries of their programs is estimated at 180.

The Salzillo Widows Association was established in 1982, having among its aims:

Defend the rights of widowed women.

Develop comprehensive training programs aimed at social integration in terms of equality, of widows.

Develop social volunteering actions, collaborating with public entities and associations.

The aims are for the specific group of widowed women and their orphaned children, such as those detailed below:

Integration of groups of women in social difficulty and prevention of the social exclusion of women.

Information and advice on reconciling work and family life.

Establishment of activities and services aimed at advising and disseminating about women's rights and the gender perspective.

Promotion of women's volunteering and creation and maintenance of a group of women who develop "mutual support" in matters of social and cultural integration, illness or others.
