The meeting takes place two days after the start of the works for the burial of the tracks by Adif, consisting of the installation of screen walls next to the station, and 24 hours after the meeting of the Social Commission of Monitoring of the Underground works.

With regard to the deadlines, the first phase will be completed in March 2020, according to the schedule designed.

In this time 1,111 meters will be removed from the surface, in addition to the access ramp.

The works will then be executed in the vicinity of the level crossing of Santiago El Mayor, and then from that point to Ronda Sur, to continue to Los Garres and the last stretch to Camino de Tiñosa.

The second phase, which runs from El Carmen station to Barriomar, will be tendered in the spring.

On the other hand, the drafting of the Nonduermas burial project is also underway.

In terms of financing, the cost amounts to 599.68 million euros, of which 568.10 million correspond to integration actions: phase 0 (Santiago El Mayor and Senda de los Garres burial and adaptation of level station -8), amounting to € 82 million and phases 1 and 2 (underground station and Barriomar and Nonduermas), with a budget of € 485.80 million.

Of these amounts, the City of Murcia will be responsible for financing 47.97 M €, while Adif-Alta Speed will be responsible for 395.79 M € and the Murcia Region the remaining 155.92 M €.

The Councilor for Development, Roque Ortiz, stressed the fulfillment of the commitment on the part of the administrations so that the burying of the roads on their way through Murcia is a reality as soon as possible, as demanded by the neighbors.

'Burying is underway, the machines are on the ground and you just have to let them work,' Ortiz said, adding that 'those who oppose this project for reasons other than the general interest of Murcia are running out Truthful arguments to maintain their frontal opposition. '

"The impulse received this week by the railway integration project in the city represents a milestone in the history of our city because it has become a reality that, for various reasons and causes, we had to wait for too long," he said. indicated Ortiz, who has reiterated that "from now on we will continue to monitor to verify that we continue to fulfill the committed steps, but we will do so with the confidence that this will be the case".
