The Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Pérez, presented this morning the VI Popular Race that takes place on Sunday, November 19 to benefit Senegal, organized by the Delegation of Manos Unidas in Murcia and has the collaboration of the City Council of Murcia.
A sports and solidarity event that will have its starting point in the Plaza de la Cruz Roja and that incorporates a 10k, 5k race, as well as a children's event.
The 10-kilometer test costs 10 euros, while the 5-kilometer ticket costs 7 euros and the children's test costs 3 euros.
"We must emphasize that in this edition the benefits that will be raised will be used to renovate a primary school in Senegal, specifically for the construction of a roof and repair of the school's access located in the Tilène neighborhood, near the city ​​of Ziguinchor, in the southwest of Senegal ", explained the councilor.
It is a project that has received the support of the City of Murcia in various actions carried out by Manos Unidas, thanks to which it is intended to solve the leakage problem of the secondary building, and install a proper drainage system to protect buildings and facilitate access to the primary school.
The total amount of the project amounts to 34,038 € and will directly benefit 1,222 people and indirectly 7,332 people.
The numbers will be available to pick up on Saturday, November 18 at El Corte Inglés and on Sunday, November 19 before the race.

In addition, a 'Dorsal Zero' has been enabled for all those people who do not participate in sports events but want to collaborate financially with the financing of the project.
