Multitude of the Eucharist in the Cathedral to close the III International Congress of Brotherhoods (12/11/2017)

During the Eucharist, a message of gratitude was given by Pope Francis for the celebration of this Congress, which has been organized by the UCAM and the Council of Brotherhoods

With the celebration of the Eucharist this morning, in the Cathedral Church of Murcia, presided over by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, has ended the III International Congress of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods that has taken place this week in Murcia.

An event that has been organized by the UCAM and the Cabildo Superior de Cofradías de Murcia and that has counted with the participation of experts in Holy Week from different countries such as Portugal, Italy and Peru, among others.

The closing mass of this great congress was attended by the presidents of the Catholic University and the Cabildo, José Luis Mendoza and Ramón Sánchez Parra, the mayor of the city of Murcia, José Ballesta, the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Monsignor José Manuel Lorca Planes, the former president of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, as well as other civil, university and ecclesiastical authorities.

José Luis Mendoza made the environmental statement of the celebration that was closed with the reading of the conclusions by Ramón Sánchez Parra.

In them, the creative force of popular religiosity was highlighted and the importance that through this congress has deepened in the fact that all humanity has been saved by the cross of Christ, motto of this event.

It should be noted that, after the conclusions, a message from Pope Francis was read thanking the celebration of this great congress and encouraging that more events of this nature can be held.

Concludes this way this congress that has had as one of its great moments the celebration of the great procession that took place yesterday Saturday through the streets of Murcia and in which thrones from different localities of the Region participated, such as: Cartagena, Murcia, Caravaca de la Cruz, Yecla, Jumilla, Santomera, Cieza and Lorquí.

This processional parade has been a historic event, since it was the first time that Easter thrones from other locations roamed the streets of the city of Murcia.

Also, also framed the Congress, have been placed four exhibitions of painting and sculpture of Holy Week, as well as the fair brother exposed in the Paseo de Alfonso X for which thousands of people have passed during this week.
