Parks and Gardens revises, branch by branch, the ficus of the Garden of Floridablanca (12/11/2017)

Safety continues to be a vital element for the City of Murcia.

The Park and Gardens Service, under the Department of Modernization of the Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, is a review of the Picus of the Floridablanca garden.

Thus, two specialized climbers are taking charge of analyzing branch by branch the nine specimens of ficus macrophylla that exist in the Floridablanca garden.

"Its mission is to check the safety of each of the specimens and their possible problems, for example it is checked that there is no branch with abnormal growth, that there is no dry branch, that there are no levers, that the stability of the specimen is the adequate, as well as several more parameters ", explains the Councilor for Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén.

This revision is usually done through the use of octopus trucks that allow to easily check the status of the specimen, although in the case of trees where access to it is impossible through other means, the climbing system is used.

In this supervision all the necessary security measures are taken, such as the perimeter fencing of the area where the technicians are working and the safety anchors of each of the technicians who are working at that moment.

In this way, the Consistory Murciano continues to bet on the safety of Murcia and their copies with periodic reviews and constants of each of its large copies that has throughout the municipality of Murcia.
