The Murcia Acoge Association and the Murcia City Council work together to eradicate family violence in Peru (11/11/2017)

The Department of Youth and Development Cooperation collaborates with the local NGO 'Murcia Acoge' which is carrying out the project "Strengthening capacities for intervention in community health and for the prevention and care of family violence in rural communities of the district of Pueblo Nuevo "in Peru.

A work that is being put into practice thanks to the counterpart AUNE Perú-Trinitarias.

The project is aimed at strengthening actions in community health and the capacities to address the problem of family violence, in the space of eight rural communities in the district of Pueblo Nuevo, in which the conditions of overcrowded housing, precarious employment or nonexistent, low level of studies and inadequate practices in personal relationships affects groups in conditions of greater vulnerability such as women and children.

On this occasion the subsidy amounts to 672 euros, corresponding to the needs that the organization transferred to the City of Murcia.

A work that has allowed the updating of the list of social promoters and promoters of health, elaboration of registration form of cases of violence or the implementation of observatories.

Since the construction of the proposal, the methodology has been participatory, so for the implementation of the observatories it has been considered to validate jointly the formats that have been prepared by collecting the proposals of the promoters.

Subsequently training workshops have been developed to socialize the format, even with the opening of making some corrective and to train in the record absolving the doubts that were presented.

An intervention that is aimed at developing competencies in two groups: Social Promoters and Health Promoters with whom the multiplier effect has been made for the development of activities with the most vulnerable groups such as women and children of their communities to address two issues that affect them significantly.

Both groups are made up mostly of women leaders of their communities, sensitized and committed, with an openness to training and developing actions in the communities where they come from.
