Two UMU students, awarded in a national innovation competition in the field of Justice (08/11/2017)

These are Elena Mínguez Enkovaara, internal student of the Department of Administrative Law, and Antonio Losa Pérez, both students of the 5th year in the joint itinerary in Law and ADE of the University of Murcia, who have been awarded by the Institute of Legal Innovation within the framework of an initiative that aims to promote LegalTech entrepreneurship and encourage the generation of an ecosystem where Technology and Law coexist, involving citizens in the construction of Justice.

The work submitted to the contest has been led by the UMU professor Julián Valero Torrijos, coordinator of the iDerTec-Innovation, Law and Technology research group, and has had the collaboration of the Superior Court of Justice of the Region of Murcia, thanks to the support received from its President, Miguel Pasqual de Riquelme and the President of the Provincial Court, Miguel Angel Larrosa.

The contest has the support of the Ministry of Justice, Amazon, Everis and the leading legal publisher in Spain Thomson-Reuters-Aranzadi, among others.

PREVIJUST is intended to facilitate access and reuse by legal operators to the information provided by the various judicial bodies of the Region of Murcia through the initiative REPREV (network of judges of predictability).

With this initiative, launched by the Superior Court of Justice of the Region of Murcia, is intended to increase the levels of predictability of the judicial response by promoting the unification of criteria, disclosure of the same and resolutions of interest that the courts of the Region dictate, as well as, the identification and preferential processing of certain type of litigation.

The award, which was delivered in Madrid on October 25 at the headquarters of the Foundation for the Research of Law and Business (FIDE), carries the right to develop the idea in the Hackathon that will take place on the 17th to the 19th. November at the Madrid International Lab. During this meeting the organization will put at your disposal a technical team that, under the coordination of the aforementioned students, will develop the application through which to implement the idea awarded in the contest.
