19 IES de Murcia participates in the project "Love we feel good" of gender violence (08/11/2017)

Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, announced this morning the calendar of actions that until November 30 will be held on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to be commemorated Worldwide.

In the midst of these activities has presented this morning the educational project of prevention "Love we feel good" for the secondary schools of the municipality and which aims to strengthen the fight against gender violence at early ages.

A project that will be carried out in 81 courses of 19 institutes of the municipality reaching more than 2,000 young students.

This initiative aims to identify and prevent sexist behavior and domination, typical of gender violence, analyze gender roles, making visible the hierarchy between genders, inequalities and discrimination among women, encourage critical analysis of students in front of to the sexism that is transmitted through advertising, the media and various agents of socialization and visualize microviolence and micromachismos.

The ultimate goal is to provide and favor in adolescent students an education in equality based on the break of sexist stereotypes and myths associated with romantic love and gender violence, sensitizing, informing and training students for the establishment of healthy and free relationships .

To do this, the following objectives are proposed:

1.-Identify and prevent sexist behavior and domination, typical of gender violence.

2.-Analyze gender roles, making visible the hierarchy between genders, inequalities and discrimination of women.

3.-Promote critical analysis of students against sexism that is transmitted through advertising, the media and various agents of socialization.

4.-Visibilize micro-violence and micro-machismo.

5.-Promote equality between genders, promoting healthy relationships.

6.-Promote the value of bonds and the affective component of human relationships beyond relationships, developing empathy and recognition.

7.-Develop coping strategies for resolving conflicts.

8.-Encourage peer groups as elements of protection and support in situations of sexist violence.

9.- Know the resources of attention to situations of gender violence in the municipality.

But they are not the only measures that this year are promoted from Social Rights.

Eleven Centers for Women in Murcia and districts will carry out activities on Tuesday 21 such as rallies, distribution of ties and reading of manifestos, poetry or debates against gender violence, to which projections or sports workshops are added.

Campaign #BloqueaElMaltrato

On the other hand, Conchita Ruiz has announced the calendar of activities scheduled by the City of Murcia to mark the celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and which includes the campaign #BloqueaElMaltrato in this The occasion has been programmed and designed by the JUDOC University Association.

It is a set of measures prepared by young people and from November 19 to November 26 will fill the classrooms and streets of the municipality with activities and information.

On Monday the 20th Street Alfonso X El Sabio will become a walk loaded with slogans against gender violence, which will remain on display until Sunday 26. That same day, at the beginning of the walk will be an information booth and a photocall, scheduled from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, where people can take photos with the chosen phrase and under the motto #BloqueaElMaltrato.

In addition eight Conciliation Centers will host the realization of storytelling for equality from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday 21, numerous Women's Centers of the municipality will hold protest actions to raise awareness, highlighting the one that will be held in San Antolín.

On Thursday 23 all lines of trams and buses that circulate around the University of Murcia and the Catholic University of Murcia will be decorated with posters calling young people to uncover and denounce the micromachismos with which they can coexist in their day to day.

On November 24, the Plenary Hall of the City Council will host the celebration of the institutional event where the manifesto against gender violence will be commemorated and read, with representatives of the collaborating IES as well as the activities carried out during the previous days.

In the afternoon the football team Murcia Cobras will perform a performance in which they will intervene in a case of simulated gender violence.

At 7:00 p.m. students of the Conservatory of Dance, Music and authors of micro-stories will put the art in front of violence in a novel act.

On Saturday, November 25, the municipal pavilion "José María Cagigal" will host the self-defense course for women "I can defend myself".

Finally the Department has organized in the week of November 27 to 30 children's theater activities in the Municipal Libraries of El Puntal, El Raal, Guadalupe and La Ñora.

In addition, activities will be organized jointly with the Autonomous Community of Murcia.

On the other hand, the number of total cases attended by EMAVI up to 30 October has been reported.

In total, so far this year, assistance has been provided to 250 women in situations of gender violence.

Of these, slightly more than 60% are new cases, 65% correspond to Spanish women and, by age, between 30 and 50 years old, they account for six out of ten registered cases.
