The PSOE accuses the PP of "treatment of favor" in the collection of the IBI of other administrations while it is inflexible with the citizens (07/11/2017)

The Municipal Group notes that of the 2.5 million euros consigned in 2016 as surcharges and interest for non-payment of IBI, only a little over 90 euros were collected in total

The Municipal Socialist Group has accused this morning to the government team, the PP, of "favorable treatment in the collection of Real Estate Tax of other administrations while it is inflexible with the payment of this tax by the citizens."

In this sense, Councilman Sebastián Peñaranda recalled that in 2015 the PSOE and requested information on the debt that these administrations (Autonomous Community and Central) had contracted with the City of Murcia and, "despite the commitment of the PP to launch a collection plan we have not heard again. "

However, the councilor emphasizes, "seeing the liquidation of the 2016 budget, we have verified that, although 2 million euros were consigned as a surcharge, finally 86 euros were collected, and for delay interest, 500,000 euros were foreseen and 8.56 euros have been paid, which shows that the PP has not exercised its authority nor has it been responsible when demanding the payment of the debts of other administrations as it does with citizens. "

In this regard, in that same settlement "we have found that the forecast of the surcharge for citizens was 2,700,000 and 3,179,000 euros were collected, while in the interest of delay it was expected to enter 2 million euros and 1,940 were paid. .000 euros, so in this case the forecasts have been met, even exceeded. "

For the council "can not act with laziness when we are talking about public money, as the City surrenders quickly to other administrations when they are taxpayers, and yet it is much more forceful to the ordinary citizen who chases him until exhausted all the ways. "

Likewise, Sebastián Peñaranda believes that "with this negligent, inefficient and discriminatory attitude on the part of the government team, we suspect that there may be other debtors, so we have requested information about the status of the payment of property IBI which are owned by banks, especially after knowing a few days ago that these entities owe significant amounts to the neighborhood communities. "

Finally, the councilor warns that "the City can not and should not allow to stop entering these important sums of money because this neglect is detrimental to public services."
