The Holy Week of the Region and its brotherhoods, will shine next week in Murcia (03/11/2017)

From Wednesday 8 to Sunday 12, the III International Congress of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods is held, organized by the Catholic University of San Antonio de Murcia and the Real and Most Illustrious Cabildo Superior de Cofradías de Murcia.

III International Congress of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods, which under the motto 'Saved by the Cross of Christ', will be held from November 8 to 12, and will bring together experts from various parts of the world, and will once again show, as already It happened 10 years ago, the intense devotion with which Holy Week is lived in the Region of Murcia.

Its first edition took place in Seville, and the second was in 2007 in Murcia, a city that repeats when the Catholic University of San Antonio designated by the Vatican as permanent headquarters.

Outstanding appointments

Among the personalities that will intervene in the Congress, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, prefect of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, must be highlighted.

On Thursday, at 11:30 am, at the Campus of Los Jerónimos, the inaugural conference will be held by Guzmán Carriquiry Lecour, secretary of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America.

Also on Thursday a Solemn Vía Crucis will be celebrated with the participation of the Most Holy Christ of La Esperanza, which will be accompanied by the Orpheus Music Choir and Bell of Auroros of the Brotherhood of the Blessed Souls of Patiño (Departure from the church of San Pedro, Murcia ).

There are planned eucharisties in different parishes of the Region and a pilgrimage to Caravaca de la Cruz to win the Jubilee, on Friday, November 10;

there a pilgrim mass will be celebrated, presided over by Cardinal Antonio Mª Rouco Varela, and the Sacred Relic will be venerated.

In addition, the sacred drama 'Jesus of Nazareth' with the intervention of the UCAM Symphony Orchestra and Coral Discantus will be performed on Friday at the Romea Theater in Murcia.

The Congress will be crowned by the Magna Extraordinary Procession 'Saved by the Cross of Christ' that will cross the streets of Murcia on Saturday, November 11 and will gather a total of 16 steps from different points of the Region such as Murcia, Cieza, Yecla, Jumilla, Caravaca, Santomera and Lorquí.

The closing of the congress will be on Sunday, with the Eucharist that will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga.

Exhibitions

Framed in the Congress there are four exhibitions, all of them open to the public until the 12th. 'Colores de Pasión' is one of them, centered on photography, and installed in the Salzillo Museum.

The one titled 'Splendor Crucis' gathers processionary sculptures of the Region of Murcia and can be visited in the Convent of San Antonio.

'Close Looks.

Holy Week according to Saura Mira ', is in the Episcopal Palace and collects works in watercolor and oil from the painter Fulgencio Saura Mira.

And in a tent in the Plaza de Los Apóstoles is installed the painting exhibition 'The Colors of Holy Week'.
