The UMU starts a campaign of attention to low vision in the shops of Santa Eulalia (02/11/2017)

The University Clinic of Integral Vision (CUVI) of the University of Murcia starts this afternoon a campaign of attention to low vision in the shops of the Santa Eulalia neighborhood.

This afternoon, at 9:00 pm, in the local neighborhood of Santa Eulalia (next entrance to the Sacristy Church of Santa Eulalia de Murcia), they will give a talk to the merchants of the Paula Castejón neighborhood, ONCE rehabilitation technique and Joaquín Sánchez Onteniente, professor at the Clinic Low Vision of the UMU.

The activity is framed within the campaign "Here we have it in mind", of attention to low vision, in collaboration with the Association of Merchants of the Santa Eulalia neighborhood of Murcia.

In order to train neighborhood merchants so they can interact with visually impaired clients, there will be a part of the talk in which they will be fitted with glasses that will take them to the range of visual impairment, and in this condition they will be displaced in a supposed commercial environment.

It is the first time in Spain that an action of these characteristics has been carried out to prepare a whole commercial district - which is why it has required the support of significant entities, among which is the national platform TENGO BAJA VISIÓN that tries to make this important collective, composed of 920,000 affected in Spain and promote their inclusion.
