A UMU professor, awarded in the Aporta Challenge, organized by the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda (31/10/2017)

On October 24th, the awards for DesafioAporta 2017 took place. The contest, organized by the public entity Red.es, aimed to recognize the three best prototypes of applications, solutions and / or services that use and reuse public open data and that suppose an improvement of the efficiency of the public Administrations in Spain.

Alfonso Sánchez García, professor in training of the Administrative Law Department of the University of Murcia and member of the iDerTec-Innovation, Law and Technology research group, won the second prize for the PLAN Platform.

The prototype, designed under the direction and supervision of the professor of said Department and coordinator of iDerTec Julián Valero Torrijos, aims to put social and economic value in the opening of data relating to public procurement from the principles of transparency and Government Open.

It is aimed at the publication of announcements prior to the launching of national tenders, to which all economic operators may subscribe, thus favoring concurrency and transparency.

In the preparation, it has counted on the collaboration of Ignacio Ballesta Germán, Technical Consultant of the Office of Transparency and Citizen Participation of the Public Administration of the Region of Murcia.

The award was presented by the Secretary General of Digital Administration of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations within the framework of the APORTA 2017 Meeting, which this year had the theme "The value of data in the global ecosystem", and was held at the headquarters of the State Secretariat of State for the Information Society and the Digital Agenda in Madrid.

The prototype and the research activity underpinning its development have been carried out within the framework of the project "Electronic contracting in the public sector: the challenge of technological innovation in public contracts", coordinated by Manuel Fernández Salmerón, professor of the Department of Administrative Law of the University of Murcia and member of iDerTec, and has the funding of the Seneca Foundation-Agency of Science and Technology of the Region of Murcia.
