An agreement between Social Rights and Habito will allow to rehome 7 families that live in shanty towns (27/10/2017)

The Governing Board of the City of Murcia, in its commitment to ensure the equality of Murcia and support the neediest families, has approved the collaboration agreement with the Habito Association for the project "Intervention for Accompaniment, Monitoring and Incorporation to Standardized Households of Families in Situations of Infravivienda ".

It is a private non-profit entity whose purpose is the promotion and personal and social integration of families, children, young people, women, elderly people and other adult groups in situations of risk and social precariousness.

All this through the acquisition of accommodation;

the development of plans for the eradication of situations of shantytowns or poor conditions of habitability by developing processes of integration and standard living together;

the support and management of resources (purchase, rent or sale) to enable a space of accommodation for people in situations of social precariousness, among others.

The project will receive a grant of 15,000 euros and "includes actions aimed at monitoring families who have already been relocated in order to ensure the continuity of their social inclusion process, avoiding social exclusion, providing an essential resource of this process as is the access to housing and the follow-up work of this incorporation requires for the proper social integration of the victims, "as explained by the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz.

An aid that will benefit a total of 7 families rehoused and the follow-up of another 30 who live in shanty towns or shanty towns.
