The UMU hosts the II International Congress of Young Researchers in Theater Studies (25/10/2017)

This morning has been inaugurated at the University of Murcia the II International Congress of Young Investigators in Theater Studies, organized by Young Investigators, Predoctoral Students and new doctors of the UMU.

The Congress has the collaboration of the Vice-Rectorate for Communication and Culture, the Vice-Dean for Culture of the Faculty of Letters, the departments of Spanish Literature, Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature and English Philology, and the School of Dramatic Art of Murcia .

Isabel Guerrero and Alba Saura, co-directors of the congress, opened the conference, who assured that theatrical studies have a base of young researchers working with enthusiasm, adding that in this second edition of the conference, communications are again "very interesting, varied and complementary ".

Sonia Murcia, director of the School of Dramatic Arts in Murcia highlighted the synergies between her work center and the University of Murcia, which have created a space for reflection on theatrical practice: "It is very important that the Higher School of Dramatic Arts and the University to exchange sources of knowledge, our collaborative ties are increasingly tightened and consolidated in projects like this, "he said.

Pascual Cantos, Dean of the Faculty of Letters of the UMU, who congratulated himself on the faculty of Isabel Guerrero and Alba Saura, said that "young people like them contribute an added value to the center", adding that activities like this international congress revert to society.

The II International Congress of Young Researchers in Theater Studies will gather at the UMU from 25 to 27 October will host more than sixty presentations by national and international participants, as well as the plenary presentations by Mariano de Paco (University of Murcia), Jen Harvie (Queen Mary University of London), Aneta Mancewicz (University of Birmingham) and Mariángeles Rodríguez Alonso (University of Murcia).
