The new dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Murcia (UMU), Juan Samuel Baixauli Soler, said Monday in the act of taking office that assumes the position with enthusiasm and commitment, feeling and desire that wants to spread to the others, from the conception that the team that presides is a further link in the chain formed by those who have preceded it.
Baixauli said during his inauguration speech, held at the faculty headquarters, on the campus of Espinardo, that will be demanding and constant in addressing the needs of the center, in addition to advance that its management will coincide with the approval of the new Regional Law of universities and the technological challenges that lie ahead.
His predecessor, Professor Pilar Montaner, who has been dean for the past eight years, has highlighted the work of adapting studies to the European Higher Education Area, which has been a great effort and dedication.
He also referred to the great transformation undergone in the years of master's and doctoral studies, to comment later on the novelty of the implementation in this course of the degree of the degree in Sociology.
Professor Montaner has pointed out that there have been two mandates at the head of the deanery of the faculty in which there have been some disappointments, but that have been more the satisfactions that have been had.
The event was closed by the rector, José Orihuela, who emphasized that this faculty is one of the largest of the UMU, and then have words of thanks to the outgoing dean for their management and welcome to the incoming dean , to which he has offered the collaboration of the rectoral team.
He also thanked the attendance of the numerous guests who have attended the deanal relief, among which has highlighted the Minister of Finance and Public Administrations, Andrés Carrillo, former student of the center.
