The Department of Finance and Contracting, headed by Eduardo Martínez-Oliva and Fomento, whose owner is Roque Ortiz, have started the processing of the file to finance the cost of 1,250,000 euros necessary to undertake the recovery of the old layout of the railroad between Los Dolores and Los Ramos to enable the path of the Southern Coast.
The Committee on Infrastructure, Finance and General Affairs has given a favorable opinion to finance this action with a charge to the remaining treasury of the settlement of the 2016 Municipal Budget. Thus begins the file, which requires submission to the procedure of exposure to the public, which delays its entry into force, so that when the project is approved the expenditure item is available.
The green path will extend along 8 kilometers in the South Coast, by the old route of the railroad.
1,800 trees of native species will be planted throughout the route, on both sides of the walk, which will have a width of 5 meters and will be compatible for use by pedestrians and cyclists.
The project is promoted by the councils of Development and Urbanism, Environment and Huerta, directed by Roque Ortiz and Antonio Navarro, respectively.
The itinerary includes the passage through the towns of Beniaján, Torreagüera and Los Ramos-Alquerías, where specific urban integration plans will be drawn up.
On the other hand, when the path reaches the three existing railway stations in Los Ramos, Torreagüera and Beniaján, the central walkway will be diverted by the side platforms, which will allow the old streets to be recreated in the central space, which will also be used to create museums train-related, incorporating parts that can be acquired or assigned by the railroad administrator, such as wagons, locomotives or signals.
On the other hand, the Committee on Infrastructure, Finance and General Affairs has decided favorably on the file to finance a series of hydrological and hydraulic projects for the execution of works of passage in districts from the remaining cash of the Municipal Budget of 2016 with the objective of avoiding the floods that occur during intense rain episodes.
The amount of these proceedings is 1,121,164 euros, to which are added another 71,033 euros for the construction of a system for the evacuation of sewage and rainwater in Algezares.
The projects, promoted by the Department of Development, directed by Roque Ortiz, are of two types: works of passage under the streets that allow the runoff water to cross the vials without causing alterations to traffic, and, secondly, to run small dykes of masonry in the rambles that greater volume of water contribute in the episodes of rain of such form that a previous lamination of the avenues can be realized, minimizing its negative impact.
The performances will be carried out in the ramblas of Puerto del Garruchal, El Carmen, Sangonera La Verde, as well as masonry dikes at the headwaters of El Carmen ramblas, Rambla de Churra, Rambla de Espinardo and Rambla del Garruchal.
