The City of Murcia will allocate next year 6,600,000 euros for the provision of home help service (23/10/2017)

The Councilor for Social Rights of the City of Murcia and the counselor for Family and Equality of Opportunities of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Violante Tomás, visited this morning to Maria Josefa Brocal, a neighbor of Espinardo who has recently joined the helpdesk at home financed by the Murciano Institute of Social Action and provided directly by the City of Murcia.

This ensures the access of this person of 72 years to a quality service and the domestic and personal care they need.

Specifically, and as explained by the Councilor for Social Rights, "is receiving a home service with an intensity of 20 hours per month, of which 10 are home care and 10 personal care, tailored to their needs."

Conchita Ruiz stressed during the visit that "in just a few days there will be 30 people in a situation of dependence that will be served through the City of Murcia, which has already begun to formalize highs since last September, the attention to a total of more than 280 people that are going to be derived from the Institute Murciano de Acción Social ".

A possible work thanks to funding provided in the Collaboration Agreement signed between the City of Murcia and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia exceeds 2,300,000 euros, amount will allow coverage of more than 105,000 hours of personal care and 93,500 hours of domestic care for the entire duration of the agreement that runs from September 1, 2017 to March 31, 2019.

The City of Murcia, for its part, currently provides a total annual budget for the provision of home help service of € 5,500,000, which is expected to increase up to 20% for the next fiscal year 2018. "The commitment of the government of José Ballesta with dependent people is a reality so in a few months we will see how the budget in this matter grows in a remarkable way in order to progressively increase the number of cases taken care of both from the system of dependency and the municipal system.

The users from the municipal system exceed 1,700 and at this moment new registrations are taking place, which until now were on the waiting list.

"It is important to emphasize that all the people assisted, both dependent and non-dependent, as well as the workers assigned to the service, benefit from the technical improvements provided by the new municipal contract for the provision of this service, which was awarded last month June ", highlighted the Councilor for Social Rights.

The service will be adapted to the different profiles of the target people in terms of time bands and intensities, personalized care, and will have complementary supports that will improve their quality of life.

One of the improvements incorporated is the real-time communication with the auxiliary staff in the homes of the users by the company providing the service, which will allow the city council the maximum agility and efficiency in the resolution of any incidence that occurs .
