The annex building to the City Hall will light pink tomorrow to celebrate the International Day of the Girl (10/10/2017)

The facade of the Moneo building will light pink on Tuesday, October 11, starting at 8.30 p.m., to support the defense of the rights of the girls on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl.

With this initiative, carried out at the proposal of the International Plan, the organization in defense of the rights of children, by the Department of Development, directed by Roque Ortiz, Murcia joins 30 other Spanish cities that will illuminate its most emblematic buildings.

Alongside the Ayuntamiento de Murcia, will also illuminate simultaneously emblematic buildings of Corunna, Ceuta, Malaga, Santiago de Compostela, Albacete, Ciudad Real, Segovia, Alicante, Cuenca, Ourense, Soria, Almería, Granada, Oviedo, Tarragona, Ávila , Huelva, Palencia, Teruel, Badajoz, Huesca, Pontevedra, Toledo, Bilbao, Jaen, Salamanca, Valencia, Cáceres, Leon, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Valladolid, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Madrid, Santander and Zamora.

In addition, cities around the world support this initiative.

The International Day of the Child, declared by the United Nations General Assembly, recognizes the rights of the girl child and the unique challenges facing the world.

With this day we want to defend the right that girls also have to go to school to receive a quality education that allows them to break the circle of discrimination and poverty and contribute to the development of a more equitable society.
