President Fernando López Miras said today that the burial of the train tracks passing through the city of Murcia "is a fair claim of the neighbors" and assured that "it is guaranteed."

However, he added, "the vandalism and violence that are taking place have caused the works of the burial to be stopped by the contractor, who is considering the possibility of terminating the contract with the Ministry, which would mean that there would be burial in Murcia. "

The head of the regional executive and the Minister of Development, Inigo de la Serna, who expressed his firm commitment to the burial, warned of this possibility during the inauguration ceremony of the Yecla-Jumilla highway, where they referred to the acts that have provoked the cut of the railroad traffic that connects the Region with the Valencian Community and the city of Murcia with Cartagena, and that extends already two days.

López Miras emphasized that "it is fair and necessary that the routes that for 156 years separate the neighbors from both sides are eliminated from the city of Murcia."

He assured that "we want to end this architectural barrier and that we must do with the burial of the roads, something that is projected and has a budget."

That is why, said the regional chief executive, "we all have to make a reflection and see the commitments that already exist with budget, administrative facts."

In this regard, the president and the minister urged the members of the Pro-Underground Platform to participate in a commission to monitor the works to assess the degree of fulfillment of the commitments acquired "and also to vindicate in case it was seen that what is committed is not being done, "added López Miras.
