Now Murcia denounces to culture the installation of the anchors of Christmas lights "to the protected garden fence of floridablanca" (05/10/2017)

- Alicia Morales regrets "that many of the events organized by the Town Hall in Murcia are characterized by improvisation and shoddy, offering a lamentable image of our municipality as well as endangering its heritage. Murcia does not deserve to be in the hands of Pepe Gotera and Otilium "

NOW MURCIA has denounced to the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment the installation of Christmas lights anchorages in Alameda de Colón "in the protected garden gate of Floridablanca and in a lamppost of the same garden ".

The spokeswoman of the municipal group, Alicia Morales, remembers that this emblematic space of the Carmen district was declared BIC (Good of Cultural Interest) last April, and that the historic garden gate is an integral part of the BIC.

"The installation of wiring and anchorages to the property can infringe Law 4/2007 on Cultural Heritage of the Region of Murcia and Law 16/1985 on Spanish Historical Heritage," explains the mayor, "in addition to the obvious risk of varying the distribution of loads on that gate and the danger that it can mean for its integrity and stability. "

The municipal formation asks in its writing that the General Directorate of Cultural Property proceed to inspect these facts, visiting the garden of Floridablanca and carrying out all the necessary actions to ensure compliance with the current legislation.

Now Murcia also requires information on whether it has proceeded to authorize the installation of some type of wiring or anchorage in the garden and in its fence, and demands that the necessary measures for the removal of the wiring are carried out as soon as possible as well as, if necessary, the execution of precautionary and / or subsidiary measures in order to avoid that if the weight load on the installed wiring is increased, the integrity and stability of the gate may be endangered ", all this if the person responsible for the good, the City of Murcia, does not meet the requirements of this Directorate General.

The councilor states that "five large metal poles have been placed a few meters from the Floridablanca garden on the Alameda de Colón sidewalk, tying them through metal tensioners to the garden gate and an old-style street lamp located in the interior" .

"Ballesta and his government have a duty to care for the heritage of all Murcia," says Morales, "without having to force the weight of the law, but far from it is often being given that the Consistory is failing or allowing that the laws of cultural and historical heritage are being violated, putting in danger, in a very irresponsible way, these goods ".

The mayor also laments that "many of the events organized by the Town Hall in Murcia are characterized by improvisation and shoddy, offering a lamentable image of our municipality in addition to endangering its heritage." Murcia does not deserve to be in the hands of Pepe Gotera and Otilio ".
