The City Council reviews more than 600 unique trees (03/10/2017)

The Parks and Gardens Department, under the Department of Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, continues to carry out a constant and controlled review of the more than 600 unique examples that exist in the municipality of Murcia.

These works, which were carried out yesterday in the specimens located in La Glorieta, are carried out by arbolists with European certification, a study is carried out on the phytosanitary status of the specimen and the specific needs of each specimen.

A review, recalls the mayor of the branch José Guillén, who also looks at the structure of the specimen, that there are no branches that have dried, or have an excessive growth or anomalous in order to ensure the safety of Murcia.

In case of finding one of these cases it is recorded in the mandatory report and the Parks and Gardens services proceed immediately to its correction.

Among the more than 600 copies of the municipality of Murcia, there are some such as the casuarinas of Luis Fontes Pagán, the elm of Beniaján, the bananas of Monteagudo, Tocinos Bridge or the tipuana of the Chinese garden of Murcia, among others.
