Work begins prior to the construction of the stormwater interceptor collector in the north (27/09/2017)

The Councilor of Fomento, Roque Ortiz, visited this morning, along with representatives of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, various municipal political groups and municipal councils of Churra, El Puntal, Espinardo, Guadalupe and Rincón de Beniscornia, for the construction of the rainwater interceptor collector.

This seeks to end the problems of floods that periodically suffers from the north, specifically in the districts of Churra, Espinardo or Cabezo de Torres.

Thus, the CHS is carrying out the underground surveys necessary to carry out the drafting of the storm interceptor project in the northern part of the city of Murcia.

This new infrastructure, with a total length of 6,835,164 meters, runs for the most part through public areas, roads and orchards.

Its route starts in the initial section of the system in the Rambla de Churra until the final section of the system of discharge in the River Segura next to Rincón de Beniscornia.

In total, 16 underground tanks will be used to design the ducts that will carry the interceptor.

Currently working in the nature park Terra Natura, under which is planned the construction of a tunnel of one kilometer in length.

To this end, six surveys are underway, four of them inside the enclosure and two at the entrance and exit.

The depth of the tastings depends on the area of ​​the park where they are made and reach up to 50 meters in the highest part.

The section corresponding to the intersection section of the CPO with the structuring axis of the North Coast (section Juan de Borbón-Juan Carlos I ).

The total execution budget is 93,585,956 euros.
